Question 1. Which state government started ‘No Bag, No Homework Day’?

Answer – Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh government has launched a bag-less school initiative for children. Under this, school students will now get no bag, no homework day in a week. This day policy will be implemented once every week from the upcoming academic session of 2024-25 so that they can participate in creative work without the burden of bags. The initiative will also set weight limits for students’ school bags. The weight of the bag will be decided according to the classes of the students.

Question 2. In which district will Uttar Pradesh establish the state’s first tortoise conservation reserve?

Answer – Gonda

The state’s first turtle conservation reserve will be established in Gond district of Uttar Pradesh in collaboration with the Forest Department, Turtle Survival Alliance Foundation India. This turtle conservation reserve will be established on the banks of Sarju river. This proposed reserve also includes a 2 kilometer stretch of the Sarju River. Along with the conservation of turtles, the entire biodiversity of this area will be taken care of.

Question 3. In which state is the tribal festival ‘Sammakka Saralamma Jatara’ celebrated?

Answer – Telangana

The tribal festival Sammakka Saralamma Jatara started on 21st February in 2024. This festival is also known as Medaram Jatara. This tribal festival showcases the rich tribal heritage of Telangana. This 4 day festival is held at Medaram in Mulugu district. It is considered to be the largest tribal gathering in the world. The history of Medaram Jatara is linked to a mother and daughter pair, Sammakka and Saralamma, who fought against unjust rulers.

PhonePe recently launched ‘Indus Appstore’, an indigenous Android marketplace. It offers more than 2 lakh apps from Indian brands. With the Indus Appstore, PhonePe is now ready to challenge Google and Apple in the Android marketplace. This homegrown platform with multilingual support offers over 2 lakh apps categorized into 45 categories. In this, apps of big companies of India and abroad like Dominos, Flipkart, Zomato, Myntra, Dream 11 and Swiggy are available.

Trilateral exercise ‘Dosti-16’ is being organized in Maldives from 22 to 25 February 2024. Indian and Sri Lankan coast guard ships have arrived to participate in it. The exercise seeks to promote mutual cooperation and collectively prepare for non-traditional threats such as piracy, trafficking and environmental disasters. This trilateral exercise started in 1991.
