Former Governor of Tamil Nadu Fathima Beevi was the first woman judge of the Supreme Court (1989). 96 year old Justice Fatima Beevi has passed away recently after a long and illustrious career. She was also the first Muslim woman judge to be appointed to any higher judiciary. She also won the title of first woman judge of the Supreme Court of a country in Asia.
Question 2. Where is Australia Hind-23 exercise being organised?
Answer – Perth (Australia)
Australia Hind-23 exercise is being organized in Perth, Australia till 6 December. A team of 81 soldiers of the Indian Army has left for Australia to participate in this. The Indian contingent includes 60 soldiers from the Gorkha Rifles, one from the Navy and 20 from the Air Force. From the Australian side, 60 soldiers from the 13th Brigade of the Army and 20 each from the Navy and Air Force are participating in this exercise.

This initiative of the state government is running under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). Meghalaya faces challenges in water conservation despite being one of the wettest places on earth. Every year Meghalaya receives 63 billion cubic liters of water through rainfall, of which it is able to conserve only 1 billion cubic liters of water.

After the impact of cyclonic storm ‘Midhili’ on many north-eastern states, there is a high possibility of another cyclonic storm hitting the Bay of Bengal. According to the latest update of Skymetweather, this storm named ‘Mikong’ will be the fourth storm to hit the Bay of Bengal this year. Apart from India, the affected areas of this storm also include Bangladesh and Myanmar.
