This day is also known as International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development. This day was first celebrated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985.

Answer – Ahmedabad

Khadi and Village Industries Commission organized Khadi Mati Art Mahotsav 2023 at Science City, Ahmedabad. This festival was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In this Mahotsav, electric wheel was given to 300 potters, indigenous charkha to 200 Khadi artisans, toolkits and machinery to 100 beneficiaries and subsidy of Rs 200 crore was given to 4458 beneficiaries across the country under PMEGP.

World Soil Day is celebrated every year on 5 December. In the year 2013, the United Nations General Assembly declared 5 December as World Soil Day during its 68th General Assembly meeting. Although the recommendation to celebrate this day began in 2002, this 2013 meeting was the official confirmation of the beginning of this day. Therefore, for the first time World Soil Day was celebrated on 5 December 2014.

Answer – Kanchan Devi

Recently, Kanchan Devi, a 1991 batch Indian Forest Service officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed to the post of Director General of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), working under the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. With this, Kanchan Devi has become the first woman Director General of ICFRE. Kanchan Devi has 30 years of experience in the field of forestry.

Question 5. Which state recently launched ‘Mission Daksh’ for academically weak students?

Answer – Bihar

Recently Bihar government has launched a new initiative called ‘Mission Daksh’ to help 25 lakh educationally weak students. Under this mission, children facing academic challenges in state-run schools will be supported. Under this, special classes in Hindi, English and Mathematics subjects will be provided to students from class 3 to 8.
