Short story writer, novelist, critic and screenwriter in Konkani Damodar Moujo conferred with the country’s highest literary honor ’57th Jnanpith Award’. He has become the second writer from Goa to receive this honour, before him Ravindra Kelekar received this award in 2008. Damodar Maujo has published 25 books in Konkani and 1 book in English. Although translations of his books are also available. His famous novel ‘Carmelin’ received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1983.

Presently Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam is developing SJVN 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project in Nepal. It is a run-of-the-river located on the Arun River in Nepal.
