How to apply for One District One Product (ODOP) award?
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has recently launched One District One Product (ODOP) Award on the National Awards Portal. These awards have been announced as part of our continued efforts to take forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of balanced regional development.
About One District One Product (ODOP) Award:
These awards will be given to people who have made exceptional achievements in the field of economic development through ODOP in their districts, States/UTs and International Missions abroad. The application process for One District One Product Awards will be open from June 25 to July 31, 2023.
All States/UTs, District Administrations and Indian Missions abroad can apply for this award.
The ODOP Awards will focus on:
- Successful ODOP efforts will encourage constructive competition, innovation and efficient public service delivery.
- To promote replication and institutionalization of best practices through sharing of experiences.
- To recognize innovations made to identify and address bottlenecks in the supply chain of ODOP products.
About One District One Product Program:
Working on PM Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India, various ministries have taken several initiatives. One District One Product (ODOP) program is also involved in this initiative. DPIIT is taking this program forward.
The objective of the ODOP program is to promote the socio-economic development of all the districts of India by selecting, branding and promoting one product from each district. Under this programme, problems are identified and addressed at each point of the entire supply chain for market access and exploitation of export potential of selected ODOP products.
