Question 2. Which edition of “Dharma Guardian” military exercise is being organized this year?

Answer – 5th

“Dharma Guardian” military exercise is being conducted between the Indian Army and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan from February 25 to March 9, 2024. The exercise is a focused training programme, aimed at enhancing interoperability between the armies of the two countries and promoting closer military cooperation. The exercise focuses on joint tactical maneuvers in a simulated semi-urban environment following the rules described in Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.

Question 3. Which country has introduced a 5-year multi-entry visa for Indian citizens?

Answer – United Arab Emirates

Recently, the Department of Economy and Tourism of Dubai has launched a 5-year multi-entry visa for Indian citizens. The purpose of offering this visa is to increase travel from India. There has been a 25% increase in Indian visitors in the last year. Holders of the 5-year visa offered by Dubai get a 90-day stay in the UAE and can also be extended once for an additional 90 days.

Question 4. India’s longest cable-stayed bridge ‘Sudarshan Setu’ connects which cities?

Answer – Okha – Bet Dwarka

Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s longest cable-stayed bridge Sudarshan Setu in Dwarka, Gujarat. This bridge connects Okha and Bayt Dwarka islands. This bridge was earlier known as Signature Bridge, current name is Sudarshan Setu. Its construction cost is ₹979 crore. Its total length is 2.32 km and width is 27.2 meters. This bridge reflects the rich heritage of Dwarka. Solar panels installed on the footpath sides of the bridge generate one megawatt of electricity.

Question 5. Who has recently become the first woman director (from developed country) of GEF of the World Bank?

Answer – Geeta Batra

Eminent Indian economist Geeta Batra has been appointed as the Director of the Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the World Bank’s Global Environment Facility (GEF). 57-year-old Geeta Batra is the first woman from a developing country to be elected to this post. Previously he served as Chief Evaluator and Deputy Director for Evaluation in IEOs of the GEF.
