Recently, India-Kenya bilateral meeting has been held for cooperation in personnel administration and governance.
Highlights of India-Kenya bilateral meeting
- In the meeting, both sides discussed enhancing India-Kenya bilateral cooperation in personnel administration and governance through the National Center for Good Governance (NCGG) and Kenya School of Governance (KSJ) with emphasis on capacity building programmes.
- The outline of areas of cooperation between NCGG and KSJ was discussed in the bilateral meeting.
- The NCGG envisages capacity building of senior Kenyan officials in areas of cooperation.
- The progress made by the Government of India in implementing the “Maximum Governance-Minimum Government” policy has been recognized by the Indian side through the implementation of CPGRAMS reforms, benchmarking of e-services using National e-Service Delivery Assessment, Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration. Presented with examples of recognition of merit.
- A detailed presentation on the activities and achievements of NCGG was also given.
- The Kenyan side presented the role of KSJ in the capacity building program of Kenyan civil servants.
About National Center for Good Governance (NCGG)
- It is an autonomous institute.
- Which was established by the Government of India in the year 2014.
- This institution works to promote good governance and improve public administration.
- Its main objective is to promote good governance and administrative reforms at the Central and State level. It conducts research and analysis to improve policies and implementation.
- NCGG spreads awareness on Good Governance, conducts capacity building programmes, disseminates best practices and develops state charters for good governance.
About Kenya School of Government (KSG)
- It is a leading educational institution in Kenya that focuses on public administration, policy making and governance systems.
- The institution plays an important role in training government officials and political leadership in Kenya.
- KSG was established in the year 2012. It was formerly known as the Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA).
