Launch of One District One Product Wall
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched the ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) program in the national capital in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development. Charanjit Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development and Supriya Deosthali, Director, DPIIT inaugurated the ‘One District One Product Wall‘ at SARAS Aajeevika Store, New Delhi on 11th August. The ODOP Wall at SARAS Aajeevika Store is a symbol of harmonious partnership between two important ministries.
One District One Product Wall
One District One Product program has been launch to promote indigenous crafts and artisans of the country. The objective of this initiative is to make people self-reliant by promoting balanced regional development in all the districts of the country as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this program a unique product selected from each district. The ODOP event showcases a diverse range of products across the country, covering various sectors including handlooms and handicrafts. As part of a larger strategy to expand its reach and impact, this program makes a valuable contribution to making the country a self-reliant hub of specialized craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
The ODOP program has partnered with the Ministry of Rural Development to implement innovative features such as product tagging and story cards as an important collaboration. These are aimed at bringing consumers and enthusiasts to the emporium. This will boost sales and increase visibility of exceptional products from India.
Saras Aajeevika is an initiative of Deendayal Antyodaya (DAY-NRLM) and the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. She is a big supporter of women empowerment. There is a special focus on the development and upliftment of women artisans and Self Help Groups (SHGs). Saras Aajeevika promotes the skill and talent of women while creating an exclusive market for its premium products. This helps women to become independent entrepreneurs.
