myCGHS iOS app launched

Recently, MyCGHS iOS App has been launched by the Union Health Ministry. It aims to increase access to electronic health records, information and resources for Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries.

Key Points of myCGHS iOS App

• The app has been developed by the technical teams of National Informatics Center (NIC) Himachal Pradesh and NIC Health Team.
• The app has security features like 2-factor authentication and MPIN functionality that ensure the privacy and integrity of users’ data.
• The app will be available for free download on both iOS and Android platforms.
• The app is essential for CGHS in the healthcare sector, it empowers CGHS beneficiaries with seamless access to essential healthcare facilities.
• This initiative is in line with the government’s vision of leveraging technology to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services.

• Booking and canceling appointments online,
• Downloading CGHS Card and Index Card,
• Accessing lab reports from CGHS laboratories,

Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS)

• Establishment: Year 1954
• The scheme provides free and affordable medical services to central government employees and pensioners.
• The main objective of establishing CGHS was to provide good health services to the Central Government employees and their families.

National Informatics Center (NIC)

• Established: Year 1976
• It is a premier organization of the Government of India responsible for the development and implementation of information technology solutions and communication networks.
• It provides information technology services to various ministries, departments and organizations of the Central Government, State Governments and Union Territories.
• Objective: Its main objective is to provide IT solutions to government institutions, increase networking facilities and develop computer-based information systems.
• Web Services: NIC creates, develops and maintains government websites and portals across the country. This includes major websites like india.gov.in, pmindia.gov.in.
• E-Governance Applications: It designs and develops e-Governance applications for various ministries and departments like Digital Locker, BHIM App, Umeed etc.
• Security Solutions: NIC takes measures to ensure cyber security and security of communication networks.
• Training: It also operates its own training institutes for training IT professionals and executives.
