History
- India successfully conducted its nuclear tests at Pokhran on 11 May 1998, hence this day was marked as National Technology Day.
- Former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced in a message on 11 May 1998 that India had successfully attained nuclear power.
- These tests were named “power” tests. This test was a special achievement of India’s nuclear program.
