Sri Lanka gets defeated by the bowling of Asia Cup 2023 champion ‘Bharat’

In the final of Asia Cup 2023, Bharat became champion by defeating Sri Lanka on the basis of its bowling. This final match between the two countries was played on 17 September 2023 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In this, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat. But the Sri Lankan batsmen could not play even 16 overs against the Bharatn bowlers. Playing 15.2 overs, Sri Lanka gave Bharat a target of 50 runs, which Bharat achieved in 6.1 overs without the loss of any wicket.

Sri Lanka had a very bad start against the Bharatn bowling. Sri Lanka lost its first wicket, Kusal Perera, on the third ball of the first over. After Bumrah, again Chhaya Minya Magic, Mohammad Siraj bowled lethally and sent more than half of the batsmen to the pavilion. Siraj dismissed 6 batsmen in his magical spell, which included Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Sadira Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjay Maduranga de Silva and Dasun Shanaka. Supporting Bumrah and Siraj, Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets, in which he dismissed Dunith Velez, Pramod Madushan and Mathisha Pathirana.

Asia Cup 2023 champion Bharat

Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan gave a great start to Bharat while chasing the target of 50 runs. Thanks to this, Bharat became the champion of Asia Cup 2023 without losing any wicket. In this match against Sri Lanka, Shubman Gill scored 27 runs and Ishan Kishan scored 23 runs.

In Asia Cup 2023, Bharat won 3 out of 4 matches of Super-4, including the final. Bharat’s first match in Super-4 was played with Pakistan, in which Bharat won by 228 runs. Then the second match was played with Sri Lanka, which Bharat won by 41 runs and secured a place in the final. The third match was with Bangladesh in which Bharat lost by 6 runs. Bharat became the champion of Asia Cup 2023 by winning the fourth match of Super-4 by 10 wickets.
