Indian captain Rohit Sharma has completed 17,000 runs in his international cricket after scoring 35 runs in 58 balls in the first innings of the ongoing Test match between India and Australia in Ahmedabad. Before Rohit Sharma, 6 Indian batsmen have done this feat. With the first innings of this Test, Rohit Sharma has scored 17,014 runs in 438 matches in international cricket. Rohit is the 28th batsman in the world to cross the 17,000-run mark.

Savitribai Phule was a famous poet, teacher and social reformer of Maharashtra. Savitribai, along with her husband Jyotiba Phule, made a major contribution to the fight for the rights of women in India. The credit for establishing the feminist movement in India is given to Savitribai Phule. While helping the plague victims, Savitribai Phule also came under the grip of plague disease and on March 10, 1897, she said goodbye to this world.
