At the 15th BRICS summit, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced the inclusion of 6 new countries in the BRICS group. These 6 countries are Saudi Arabia, UAE, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina and Iran. All these countries will get official member status from January 2024. PM Modi also says that adding new members will strengthen BRICS as an organization.
