Mathematicians Yunqing Tang and Ruixiang Zhang were awarded the SASTRA-Ramanujan Prizes for 2022 and 2023 at the SASTRA campus, Kumbakonam. The Shastra Ramanujan Award is given to individuals under the age of 32 to recognize mathematical skills. This award was instituted by SASTRA in the year 2005 to pay tribute to Ramanujan. The SASTRA-Ramanujan Award carries a US$10,000 commendatory cash prize and a citation.

This day is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh, the fifth Prime Minister of the country. Chaudhary Charan Singh, who brought farmer-friendly policies and worked towards the welfare of farmers, served the country as Prime Minister from 28 July 1979 to 14 January 1980. Being from a farmer family himself, he understood very well the condition of farmers in the country.

Under this award, Sukrita Paul Kumar was given a Tagore statuette, a certificate and a cash prize of US$5,000.

Developed by Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI), this application is available in six languages. JCI was established as an official agency by the Government of India in the year 1971.
