Recently, the registered office of Khanij Bidesh India Limited (KABIL) has been inaugurated in New Delhi by Shri VL Kantha Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Mines.

- The inauguration of Kabil’s office marks a new era of concerted efforts towards ensuring India’s mineral security.
- Kabil plays a key role in driving India’s growth and self-reliance in the critical and strategic minerals sector in line with “Make in India”, “Develop India” and net zero emissions objectives.
- An exploration and development MoU was signed with CAMYEN on January 15, 2024. The agreement granted Kabil exclusive exploration rights to five lithium blocks in Argentina.
- India has also partnered with Australia by signing G2G MoU (between Ministry of Mines and DSIR) and B2B MoU (between Kabil and CMO), which is the world’s largest producer of Lithium (about 47% of the world’s top producer) and Cobalt (world’s largest producer of Lithium). It is the leading producer of about 3% (fourth largest producer).
