Recently, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Dhanuka Agritech Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. U.S. Gautam, Deputy Director General (Agriculture Extension), ICAR and Dr RG Agarwal, Chairman of Dhanuka Agritech Limited signed on March 19, 2024.

Highlights of MoU between ICAR and Dhanuka Agritech Limited

  • The objective of this agreement is to utilize the expertise of both the institutions to deliver new technology to the farmers and promote natural farming.
  • Dhanuka Agritech will tie up with central institutions, ATARI and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) to provide training related to agricultural production to the farmers.
  • Dhanuka Agritech in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI and KVK will provide advisory services and train farmers.

Summary

ICAR Deputy Director General Dr. Gautam said that there are more than 14.5 crore farmers across the country, out of which most of the farmers have small land for farming. At present the entire world is facing the challenges of climate change. India is also affected by this to a great extent. In such a time, both the organizations must work on a new system of agricultural production ‘climate-friendly’.
