Reserve Bank of India’s MPC meetings schedule for 2024-25 released
Recently, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the schedule of review meetings of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) for the new financial year 2024-25 starting from April 1.
Six-member committee meeting
- The first MPC meeting will run from 3 to 5 April 2024.
- The next meeting will begin on June 5, while the monetary review will be announced on June 7. After this, the next meeting will be held from 6 to 8 August, then from 7 to 9 October, then from 4 to 6 December.
- The final MPC meeting will be held from 5 to 7 February 2025.
Key points of MPC meeting 2024-25
- In the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, various topics related to monetary policy are discussed for 2 days before the member review meeting.
- Members of the six-member committee vote on a resolution on the third day of the meeting. The RBI Governor then announces the results of the meeting after the completion of voting.
- The six-member MPC, chaired by the RBI Governor, consists of three outside members, while three members, including the Governor, are from the Reserve Bank.
