Senior Nationals Sailing Championship-2024
The Yachting Association of India (YAI) Senior Nationals-2024 Championship will be organized by the Indian Naval Watermanship Training Center (INWTC), Mumbai from 12 to 18 May 2024.
Highlights of Senior Nationals Sailing Championship-2024
- The event is being organized in collaboration with Indian Naval Sailing Association (INSA), Naval Headquarters.
- This championship is a national ranking event for all senior Olympic categories.
- This championship will be organized in Mumbai Port.
- The championship has 82 participants from 10 major sailing clubs of the country who have registered for the event.
- ILCA had a total of 7 male participants, and 6 female participants, competing in 470 Mixed, 49 Men, 49 FX (Women), IQFOIL (Men), IQFOIL (Women), Formula Kite (Men) and Formula Kite (Women) categories in the championship. Will take.
- The sailing races were held in a single series on 13 May, followed by a medal race on 18 May 2024.
- The race is run by a team of international race officials and international judges appointed by World Sailing, the governing body of sailing in the world.
- Apart from Indian race officials, international judges from Australia, Korea and Singapore will form an international jury.
About Indian Naval Watermanship Training Center (INWTC)
- It is a state-of-the-art training center to train naval personnel in maritime skills and aquatic activities.
- INWTC was established in the year 1964 in Mumbai.
- Its main objective is to train naval personnel in diving, swimming, water survival and sea rescue activities.
- It includes state-of-the-art aquatic training facilities such as deep water pools, shallow water pools, beaches and simulators.
- Various levels of training programs are conducted here like Basic Watermanship Course, Sailors Diving Course, Clearance Diving Course etc.
- Advanced diving training is also provided using modern methods and equipment.
- INWTC also conducts rescue and emergency rescue drills.
