DD-Kisan launches 2 AI anchors, AI-Krish and AI-Bhoomi

Recently, Indian government-run public broadcaster Doordarshan’s DD Kisan channel launched two AI (artificial intelligence) anchors AI-Krish and AI-Bhoomi on 26 May 2024.

Main points of AI-Krish and AI-Bhoomi

• DD Kisan Channel launched AI-Krish and AI-Bhoomi on 26 May 2024 to celebrate its 9th year of establishment.
• In this era of ‘Artificial Intelligence’, this is going to be the first government TV channel of the country.
• AI-Krrish and AI-Bhoomi news anchors are computers, which are just like humans and will function just like humans. 
• These anchors can read news 24 hours and 365 days without stopping or getting tired.
• These anchors can broadcast in 50 languages of the country and abroad.
• Farmer viewers will be able to watch them in all the states of the country from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu and from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh. 
• These AI anchors will provide necessary information to the farmers about agricultural research happening in India and abroad, latest prices in agricultural markets, weather updates.

About DD Kisan

• Established: 26 May 2015 
• DD Kisan is the only TV channel in the country, which has been established by the Government of India and dedicated to the farmers. 
• Its objective is to serve the agricultural and rural communities in the country and work towards creating an environment of overall development by educating them.
• The main objective of DD Kisan channel was to provide agriculture related information to the farmers keeping them informed about the changes in weather, global markets etc., so that the farmers can make appropriate plans in advance and take right decisions on time.
