First indigenous electric standing wheelchair ‘NeoStand’
Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT) has launched India’s first indigenous electric standing wheelchair ‘NeoStand’ made with indigenous technology. This wheelchair was launched by Professor V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras. On this occasion, he said that the NeoStand wheelchair has been developed keeping in mind the problems faced by the disabled people.
Indigenous electric standing wheelchair
- Through this wheelchair, disabled people can sit for a long time and stand comfortably without any help.
- NeoStand has been designed under the leadership of Professor Sujatha Srinivasan of the Center for Rehabilitation Research and Device Development, IIT Madras.
- IIT Madras’s incubated startup Neomotion has priced this wheelchair at Rs 90 thousand.
