Answer – Australia

Malabar Exercise is an annual exercise of QUAD countries, which is conducted in Australian waters. Navies of the United States, Japan, India and Australia participate in it. The Malabar Exercise is going to be held on August 11-21. This is the first time that Australia will host this exercise. This year’s exercise focuses on enhancing anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

Recently Commander (Eastern Seaboard) S Paramesh has been appointed as Additional Director General, Coast Guard at Indian Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi. Prior to this, S Paramesh was posted as the Flag Officer Commanding Coast Guard Region (East), Coast Guard Region (West) and Coast Guard Commander (Eastern Seaboard). He is an alumnus of the Flag Officer National Defense College, New Delhi and the Defense Services Staff College, Wellington.

Question 3. Recently which state government has launched the Griha Laxmi Yojana 2023?

Answer – Telangana

Telangana government is launching Griha Lakshmi scheme this year. This scheme is a financial assistance program for women belonging to SC, ST and BC communities. Through this scheme, they can construct or repair their house. Under the Griha Laxmi Yojana, Rs 3 lakh will be provided to each beneficiary in one lump sum. The target is to benefit more than 1 lakh women of the state through this scheme.

Answer – Iraq

The Government of Iraq has taken a big decision regarding the word ‘homosexuality’. The use of the word ‘homosexuality’ has now been completely banned in Iraq. An order was issued to all the media and social media companies of Iraq regarding this and it was said that instead of ‘homosexuality’, now use the term ‘sexual deviation’.

Question 5. When will World Steelpan Day be observed?

On 24 July the United Nations adopted a draft resolution. The draft has declared August 11 as World Steelpan Day. This day will be celebrated every year on the calendar of the United Nations. The day has its roots in Trinidad and Tobago’s history, when French planters arrived here in the 1700s, bringing Carnival traditions with them.
