This year the 81st anniversary of the Quit India Movement was celebrated. In Rajya Sabha, the Vice President and Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar today paid tributes to the freedom fighters on the 81st anniversary of the historic ‘Quit India Movement’. Dhankar said that the day is an opportunity for the Members of Parliament to introspect and reflect on their moral contribution.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) recently launched the Indian Web Browser Development Challenge (IWBDC) initiative at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. This initiative is being taken by MeitY, Certificate in Computer Application (CCA) and Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Bengaluru. It is an open challenge competition that inspires technology-enthusiastic developers. In this challenge developers build a native web browser.

Government has developed a Cott-Ally Mobile App for farmers. The app raises awareness about minimum support price rates, payment information, nearest procurement centers and best agricultural practices, etc.

Government e-Marketplace (GeM) was established on 9 August 2016. It is India’s online marketplace for public procurement. GeM facilitates transparent and efficient procurement for Government Departments, Organizations and PSUs. It has become one of the largest public procurement portals both in terms of transaction value and size of buyer-seller ecosystem. In a short span of time, GeM has surpassed the achievements of well-known public procurement platforms like KONEPS of South Korea and GEBiz of Singapore.
