Question 1. Which company has launched the ‘Threads’ app?

Answer – Meta

Meta inc.  has launched a new social media platform called ‘Threads’.  This app is being consider as a rival of Twitter.  The app is available in over 100 countries through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.  On this app users can share short text messages, links, photos and 5 minutes duration videos.

Question 2. Which state government has recently launched ‘Mo Jangal Jami Yojana’?

Answer – Odisha

Odisha government has launched ‘Mo Jungle Jami Yojana’ in the state.  The aim of this unprecedented scheme is to promote forest rights among tribal communities and forest dwellers in the state.  With this initiative, Odisha will become the first state in the country to recognize individual and community forest rights.

Question 3. In which village has the first Sainik School of Gujarat been inaugurated?

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently virtually laid the foundation stone of Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School at Boriyavi village in Mehsana.  It is the first Sainik School in India to be run by a cooperative organization groundbreaking project.  This is an important milestone in the field of education.  The school will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 75 crore and in 11 acres of land.  The school is being manage by the Dudh Sagar Research and Development Association (Durda).

Question 4. Which is the most peaceful country in the world?

Answer – Iceland

According to the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2023, Iceland is the most peaceful country in the world.  Iceland has left behind 163 countries in this list.  Afghanistan has been described as the most troubled country, which is ranked 163rd.  India ranks 126th in this list.  The top 5 of the list are occupied by Iceland, Denmark, Ireland, New Zealand and Austria.

Question 5. Google has recently appointed whom as India Policy Head?

Answer – Srinivasa Reddy

 Manufacturing and policy veteran Srinivasa Reddy will serve as the top government affairs executive in India for Google.  Presently Reddy is working in Microsoft as a Senior Engineering Executive.  He will join Google by the end of 2023.
