Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurates 2-day ‘Start-up Conclave’

Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated a 2-day 'Start-up Conclave' in Udhampur.

Lately Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy & Space, Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated the 2 day ‘Start-up Conclave’ at Udhampur. The Union Minister informed that this 2-day “Young Startup Expo” will provide an opportunity to explore new avenues for the industry as well as entrepreneurs in the region.

This 2-day ‘Start-up Conclave’ is being organized by CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at the inauguration, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that start-ups in India have grown 300 times in the last 9 years. Before the year 2014, there were around 350 start-ups. Now the number of start-ups has crossed 90,000 with more than 100 unicorns currently.

2 day start-up conclave at Udhampur

Dr. Zabir Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu expressed his gratitude for choosing Udhampur for this 2 day ‘Start-up Conclave’. This day was described as historic for Udhampur. Dr. Zabir urged the people of Udhampur district and other nearby districts to attend this ‘Start-up Conclave’. This will give information about the benefits of start-up.

Chairperson DDC Udhampur, Mr. Lal Chand, Vice Chairperson DDC, Juhi Manhas Pathania, Director CSIR-IIIM, Dr. Zabir Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Mr. Sachin Kumar Vaish, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Mr. Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, SSP Udhampur Apart from Dr. Vinod Kumar, BDC, DDC and other officers of the district administration participated.

Efforts for startup sector in India

Dr Jitendra Singh said that the start-up movement which has been strengthened by PM Modi is now reaching every corner of the country including B-town. He said that PM Modi has given top priority to Jammu and Kashmir in everything. So that Jammu and Kashmir can compete with developed states and union territories in India in terms of development.

The G20 chairmanship by India in the year 2023 will bring further growth in the startup sector in the country. In the last 9 years, the government led by PM Modi has not only aimed to generate employment but also to create entrepreneurship. Due to this, today the startup sector in India is growing rapidly. PM Narendra Modi’s mantra ‘Startup India, Standup India’ is creating lakhs of job opportunities for the youth of this country.
