National Florence Nightingale Award 2022-2023
President Draupadi Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2022-2023 to Nursing Professionals at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 22 June.
What is the National Florence Nightingale Award?
The ‘National Florence Nightingale Award’ was instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The award is given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in recognition of the meritorious services rendered by nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
This award is given in honor of Florence Nightingale. Born in 1820 to an English family in Florence, Italy, Florence Nightingale is said to be the founder of modern nursing.
