National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched ‘Knowledge Sharing Platform’ for inclusive development of National Highways. This platform will help in sharing of knowledge and innovative best practices.

Knowledge Sharing Platform of National Highways Authority of India

Hosted on NHAI’s website, the initiative will help the authority collaborate with experts and citizens. This will help in sharing of knowledge and information related to subjects such as road design, construction, road safety, environmental sustainability and related areas. This platform will encourage sharing of best practices from across the globe. Apart from this, it will contribute towards the overall development of National Highway infrastructure in the country.

The best suggestions/practices can be upload on NHAI web portal in the form of video clips, power point presentations and PDF files. The information uploaded on Knowledge Sharing Platform will be review by NHAI officials. These will then be implement on the basis of evaluation.

NHAI is rapidly developing the National Highway infrastructure with the help of innovation and modern technology. Apart from innovative use of recycled materials like fly-ash and plastic waste, NHAI is also promoting the use of Recycled Asphalt (RAP) and Recycled Aggregate (RA) in National Highway construction to encourage sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

With the development of state-of-the-art tunnels, modern bridges, wildlife corridors and expressways, it is important to have wider participation for National Highways infrastructure development. This knowledge sharing platform will encourage experts and citizens to share best practices and contribute towards nation building.

About National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)

It is a Government of India undertaking. The function of the National Highways Authority of India is to develop, maintain and manage the national highways under it. It deals with matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. NHAI was formed by an Act of Parliament, the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988. The Authority started functioning in February, 1995 with the appointment of full time Chairman and other Members.
