Last date for nominations for Padma Awards-2023 released
The process of online nomination submission for Padma Awards-2023 has started from 1 May 2022. The last date for nominations for the award has been announced as September 15, 2022. These Padma awards will be announced on the occasion of Republic Day, 2023.
How to enroll for Padma Awards-2023?
Nomination/recommendation applications for Padma Awards can be made through online mode only. For this applicants will have to submit nominations on the National Awards Portal (https://awards.gov.in).
About Padma Awards:
The Padma Award is one of the highest awards of the country (namely Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri). These awards were instituted in 1954. These are announced every year on the occasion of Republic Day. These highest awards of the country are in recognition of distinguished and exceptional achievements/service related ‘distinguished work’ in the fields/disciplines of art, literature and education, sports, medicine, social work, science and engineering, public work, civil service, trade and industry etc. provide.
Eligible for these awards are selected without distinction of caste, occupation, position or gender. Apart from doctors and scientists, all government employees including employees working in public sector undertakings are not eligible for the Padma award. The government is committed to convert the Padma awards into “People’s Padma”. In such a situation, hard efforts will be made to identify those talented persons who belong to women, weaker sections of the society, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Divyang community and who are doing selfless service to the society and whose excellence and achievements should really be recognized.
How to enroll for Padma Awards-2023?
Firstly all the relevant details as specified in the format available on the portal should be given. It should also be accompanied by a quote (maximum 800 words) in descriptive form. The citation should clearly explain the distinguished and exceptional achievements/service of the recommended person in the relevant field/discipline. - You can apply for the National Award for Personal Excellence-2021 by 28/08/2022.
- Applications for the National Award for Personal Excellence-2022 can be submitted till 28/08/2022.
- The last date for National Awards-2021 for Institutions working in the empowerment of Persons with Disabilities is 28/08/2022.
