‘Pragati-2024’ programme organised by Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences

CCRAS hosted the event “Pragatiye in Medicine and Technological Innovation (Pragati- 2024)” on May 28, 2024 in New Delhi.

Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) hosted the event “Drug Research in Ayurveda and Technological Innovation (PRAGATI- 2024)” on May 28, 2024 in New Delhi.

Key Points

  • The ‘Pragati-2024’ program is a collaborative initiative of CCRAS to promote Ayurveda research and industry. This initiative will strengthen networking and institutional linkages and benefit Ayurvedic practitioners and patients.
  • The program will be inaugurated by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH.
  • The objective of this program is to promote Ayurveda formulations and technological innovations.
  • Representatives of 35 pharmaceutical companies of the country will participate in this program. CEOs of renowned companies like Himalaya, Emami, Baidyanath, Dabur, IMPCL, Arya Vaidya Sala, Aushadhi and IMPCOPS will also participate in it.
  • Under the Pragati-2024 program, details of 35 formulations and three technical devices will be presented. These include AYUSH 64, AYUSH SG, AYUSH Gutti and others.

Target

  • To utilize research results and technologies developed by CCRAS.
  • To establish strong networks for collaborative research in quality control, drug standardization, product development.
  • To identify potential industrial partners with domestic R&D centres.
  • To explore capacity building opportunities for researchers in drug formulation and product development.
  • To promote entrepreneurship in Ayurvedic pharmaceutical sciences (pharmaceutics), assist Ayurveda professionals in setting up start-ups and incubating centres.

The ‘Pragati-2024’ programme includes four special technical sessions-

  1. Outlining CCRAS products and strategies for strengthening researcher-industry collaboration including presentations of all 35 products and instruments, as well as showcase of five CCRAS laboratories and 25 hospital services located in the country.
  2. Panel discussions to identify gaps and address challenges in regional and global Ayurveda drug development.
  3. Identifying priority areas for CCRAS-Industry collaboration, sharing of experiences.
  4. Discussion on “Setting Research Priorities” for CCRAS-Industry Collaboration will be held.

About Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS)

  • It is an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
  • It is concerned with research, education and standardization in the field of Ayurveda.

  • To conduct scientific research on Ayurvedic medicines, processes and systems.
  • To establish and operate Ayurvedic research institutes and colleges.
  • To conduct quality testing and standardization of Ayurvedic medicine samples.
  • To study folk medicine systems in different parts of the country.
  • To spread awareness among the public to promote Ayurvedic system of medicine.
  • To develop human resources in the field of Ayurvedic medicines and systems of medicine.
