History of International Child Protection Day
- International Child Protection Day was first organized in Russia in the year 1949, the decision of which was taken in a special meeting of the International Women’s Democratic Federation in Moscow.
- International Child Protection Day was celebrated for the first time in 51 countries of the world on June 1, 1950.
- On this day, gifts are given to children and special celebrations are organized for them.
- According to the census of the year 2011, more than 43 lakh children in India do child labor.
- According to UNICEF, India alone has a share of 12 percent of the total child laborers in the world.
- World Day Against Child Labor is celebrated every year on June 12 to end the cruelty of child labor all over the world.

- International Child Protection Day raises awareness about problems such as child abuse, violence, child marriage and child labour. It motivates society to think and take action on these issues.
